Beautylish is offering a People Operations Internship for summer 2024 for current students or recent graduates. In this role, you will work under the direct guidance and mentorship of the Head of People Operations to gain experience in HR compliance, internal communications, and leadership development. Your work will be project-focused, based on the current needs of the company and your prior experience. This is a paid internship compensated at $20/hr; you will also receive reimbursement for a 1 year SHRM membership.
 

Responsibilities Include:

  • HR compliance projects: research and auditing required workplace notices/postings, researching federal, state, and local leave laws, etc.
  • Internal communication projects: updating the company intranet, creating employee-facing materials for digital or physical distribution, creating internal training presentations, etc.
  • Recruitment & application screening: research and evaluate alternative job boards; use our ATS to conduct first round screening of applications for assigned open positions.
  • Engaging in Menteeship with Head of People Operations: meet weekly to review your work and receive feedback, receive training on HR software systems, and ask questions.
 

Desired Skills & Qualities:

  • Interest in pursuing a career in HR/People Operations, business operations, or organizational development.
  • Extremely high standards of professionalism and integrity: you may have access to confidential information and will be expected to act with discretion and high ethical standards.
  • Strong independent research capabilities: you should be able to conduct thorough research on assigned topics with little direction, including identifying reliable sources.
  • Exceptional reading comprehension and written communication: you must be able to review detailed and complex information (e.g. employment law documents) and translate information to easy-to-understand materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and/or Google Suite applications: you will create professional documentation for internal distribution; basic graphic design experience a plus.
 

Requirements:

  • Current Student or Recent Grad: you must be either a.) a current ascending senior in an accredited undergraduate program, b.) enrolled in a full time graduate program, or c.) a graduate of either within the past 12 months.
  • U.S. Work Authorization: you must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. for the duration of the program; we are not able to provide visa sponsorship but applicants on student visas with current employment authorization may apply.
  • Hybrid or Remote/WFH in California: you must be located in California for the duration of the internship, provide your own computer/laptop, have a stable and secure internet connection, and have an adequately private work environment.
  • Part-Time Hours: you must be able to commit to approximately 20 hours per week for the duration of the program.
  • Summer 2024 Availability: the internship will take place within the time frame of late May to early September 2024 and is intended to be up to 12 weeks in duration: we have some flexibility to work with you regarding the exact start and end dates to accommodate school schedules.
